Boy, did you do a lot of learning and growing this month! By the end of the month you weighed roughly 14 pounds! I did the whole weigh-myself-on-the-scale-then-weigh-myself-while-holding-you thing to determine approximately how much you weighed. This month was all about learning how to move your little body! At the beginning of the month you would look longingly at the toys hanging from your play dome and sometimes you'd manage to whack the toy and watch it swing back and forth. But now, you are a grabbing machine! You grab the toys from the play dome, mama's hair, your play keys, your Sophie the Giraffe, even your own WEE-WEE (which I personally think is very dangerous given you haven't mastered the let-go-of-what-you're-flailing-around thing yet so we try to avoid this curiosity).
In other news, you are sleeping very well. You sleep for good four hour stretches at night now. Granted sometimes you end up in bed with me and we cuddle and nurse all night long so it is hard to tell how long you are really sleeping. But those cuddles are pure gold to mama! So I don't mind. I also love how when I talk in a room, your eyes go "vroom" right to where you hear mama's voice. You are talking more now too and it is really cute. You still love to grunt though. You are my grunt baby.
And you finally achieved something you really REALLY wanted to! On April 4th, a day before Mr. K's birthday, you rolled over all by yourself! I was on my lunch break, but being the workaholic I am, I was checking an email with you on my lap. I wanted to respond quickly to the email, so I set you down on the floor in my office which coincidentally is also the laundry room. Well, you found one of the hampers worth investigating and before I knew it I turned around to give you a smile and you were on your side really working hard to get on your tummy. I cheered you on and a few moments later you were on your belly! I probably should have left you there to enjoy your victory longer, but I was too excited and too proud so I scooped you up and gave you a million mama kisses.
We are still waiting for the all-out giggling we are looking forward to, but we have gotten a few precious he-HA! laughs. Mostly we get the he-HA! laughs when mama dances... hmm, are you saying something?
We did so many fun things this month! We traveled about 2 and a half hours to go visit some great friends and meet their new daughter. You two will be great friends growing up. You are less than 2 months apart in age! We also got a kicking toy from our friend L and boy do you LOVE that thing. You kick it and music happens and balls fly and all sorts of awesome stuff. We also got a slew of new cloths from L which is a good thing since you are very quickly growing out of everything! Pretty much nothing in the 3M range fits. All 6M stuff fits and quite a few 9M outfits fit too! My goodness! In the same trip (we had a busy day) we saw lots of family! You met almost all your great-aunties and quite a few cousins!

The weather started getting nice enough that we went for lots of walks this month. And it seemed more often than not when we'd go for a walk we'd always run into somebody! We ran into your Grandpa and then on another walk we ran into your Grandma and then on another walk we ran into a cousin. Aw, small town living! Your Auntie M saw you the other day and she was amazed with how much you changed! She said the last time she saw you, you were moving randomly and now you move with purpose and are arching your whole back. You've got skill in other words. :)
Now that you have found your hands, we've all been watching to see which sucking fingers you end up settling on. So far, you tend to favor your thumb or your pointer and middle finger together. And sometimes... you go for your whole fist! Silly guy!
You officially turned 3 months old yesterday and it was Easter to boot! We had a very busy day. First we walked a few blocks to this house that has blow up Easter bunnies on their lawn. We took a bunch of pictures there and then we went off to visit Nana & Grandpa K. Then after that we went over to Grandpa and Grandma H. house for dinner.
